When I was younger my pen pals were usually my cousins. I really enjoyed writing Karen, in Noblesville, Indiana and Brenda in St. Paul but now I'm more likely to Skype than even send emails these days. It was somewhat relaxing to find a quiet time to sit down and write a letter. And now I'm anxiously checking my mailbox every day, waiting for an envelope!
Can't wait to share a bit more info about my new pen pal!!!
How fun! Can't wait to hear all about it!

Aww, how fun! I love writing letters too!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun idea! I'm sorry I missed out on this opportunity. And Pondside is one of my favorite blogs. What a treat to correspond with each other.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you, nowadays we are lazy... we prefer a fast technology instead of a traditional letter. Have a nice day, Anita Camilla
ReplyDeleteI think the idea of actually corresponding with a blogging friend is wonderful. Several years ago, I read that within 20 years, one of the most "collectible" items would be handwritten letters. I have proper stationery, lovely notecards, several fountain pens and a lot of ink. It has been far, far too long since I've sat down at my desk and used any of it. This is something I must ponder.
ReplyDeleteNoblesville: My son had his first job there after college. Nice area.
Best,
Bonnie
What a wonderful idea! I enjoy both of your blogs. You will be perfect penpals together!
ReplyDeleteMine is off into the hands of Canada Post and the US Mail - can't wait to receive yours!
ReplyDeleteI was catching up on my blog reading this AM and saw that you were in SC this past weekend and was wondering if you were on HH island? I loved your past posts. Yes it is so true about having friends and one true friend. Hold your friends close to your heart because I have had two leave my life way to quickly and miss them dearly. If they come into your head don't delay calling them on the phone or now you can write them a letter. Letter writing is almost a lost art form. Sorry I missed in on joining in on that fun.

I miss the days of letter-writing and opening my mailbox to find envelopes that have been hand-addressed. Enjoy your pen pal!
ReplyDeleteWriting is my true hobby! Hugs.
ReplyDeleteI'm having a great give away and would like you to invite to join in ;)
ReplyDeleteI found out about this too late to join in, however I really look forward to hearing more, as Pondside is one of my favourite bloggers.
ReplyDeleteHave fun.
Maggie
How fun.
ReplyDeleteI had a German pen pal when I was little, and it made going to the mail box so exciting!
I did this last year on another blog and my pen pal and I exchanged some lovely letters. It was fun to watch the mailbox for something besides bills and charity requests. I think you and Pondside will have a lot of fun!
ReplyDeleteI miss writing letters! I had a pen pal for 7 years before I finally met him in Paris; it was a meeting that should never had happened because I preferred him in his letters than in person.
