Today there were several other things to I was planning to post about but on my drive home I happened to pass by a new shop near my house so I changed my mind and decided to post about the shop. (Don't you just love those colorful dot wall vases pictured above?)
Getting a new store in the area where I live is a really big deal. Our neighborhood has several unique restaurants (other than franchises) but we don't have shops. The best we have nearby is Scott Antique Market but it's only once a month so you can imagine my excitement today when I discovered Cartini Home!
The store is loaded with soaps, candles, handmade vintage jewelry, kitchen items, cool items, nostalgic items, garden goods, gifts and even candies from the 60's. Carter and Jim are the shopkeepers and my husband and I had a great time talking with them and hearing about some of the local items they sell.
The store is in an old auto repair shop and it's been transformed into a great space. As we were headed out the door Carter and Jim gave me a beautiful Himalayan Trading Post candle (which is made right here in metro Atlanta) for me to giveaway on my blog. So, I will be giving away the lovely candle pictured below on Mother's Day. Please leave a comment so that your name will be entered to win.
Don't you love the candle container? I brought home several other items that I couldn't resist.
Also, for those of you living in the Atlanta area, I'm thinking of holding a bloggers event on the south side later this summer and including Cartini Home in the outing. Email me if you are interested in attending and I'll let you know when I get the event organized.
Today I'm linking up with The Tablescaper to celebrate Seasonal Sunday. Hope you will stop by and see what other bloggers are up to.
I'm loving your new shop! It looks like a fun place to get a little retail therapy. I've never been to Scott's antiques, always run out of Atlanta time when I'm over there. The candle is great JoJo. How nice for the owner to offer one for a giveaway. Sure hope I have a lucky day!

It's 6:30 pm and I'm already in my PJ's - after a day of weeding and gardening a hot bath and pj's seemed like the best things!
ReplyDeleteThe candle is lovely and the shop is gorgeous - lucky you to have it so close!
This looks a really fun shop! Lucky you to get a new shop and place of inspiration. It seems there are less and less hops these days. Great to have you be a part of Seasonal Sundays.

What a fabulous shop! Love the candle holder and the birdhouse too. And weren't those guys just the sweetest to help you with a giveaway. Hope they get lots of publicity and hope their shop is a huge success for them. I live about 3 hours from Atlanta but if I could work it out, I'd like to at least think about getting together with some fellow bloggers. I'm the only one, other than my son, who I know that blogs...my friends don't understand my fascination:)
ReplyDeleteCartini Home looks like a fun place to shop! The candle is very pretty. I love the gnome you bought foryour garden ;) Wish I could go along on your bloggers outing!

This was always my favorite kind of shop, when I was able to get out and about! It's perfect for gifts and Christmastime, as well as a lot of other Holidays....I'm happy for you that they opened in your area...! Such fun to shop and always so many irresistable goodies!
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about a new store in the neighborhood, JoJo. That's always exciting and Cartini looks incredible. Love the candle you're giving away and would love to win! Thanks for hosting the giveaway.

I just love shops like this! So much to look at and enjoy. Even 60's candy?! My husband buys me Chuckles once in a while (sold at a local hardware store here) and it brings me right back to being a kid.
ReplyDeleteYou certainly are lucky! What a great find.
ReplyDeleteGlad you. Have a new place for retail therapy!
ReplyDeleteThe candle is very pretty!
Happy Seasonal Sunday, Cheryl! :)
Good Luck to the new merchants!
Wow! I would have probably spent hours in that store looking at all the treasures! How fun for you to have a store like this nearby!
ReplyDeleteLOVE this store! I've been there 4 times since it opened a few weeks ago. I find something new each time(birthdays, housewarming, Mother's Day). I've been eyeing the Himalayan candles, too, and would love one of my own!
ReplyDeleteWOW! What a wonderful store. I wish I was able to shop there but the trip from ND would take awhile. It was great to see the pictures... you see the Carter, one of the owners, is a family friend. His parents and mine were close friend, holidays together and such, plus he is a friend of my brothers. I always knew Carter and Tracy would do something great! Thanks for the chance to see the store! Kay
