No, new buildings are certainly not the same...I will even up the ante with..."New houses just aren't the same." However, I don't like the idea of all the renovations, either! As my Italian grandmother still loves to say, "New is new!"
You're so right. We're more likely now to get buildings up as fast as we can rather than attend to them as art forms. I'm so glad we have the older ones to enjoy!
